Hello, I’m Marie White. If you contact me through this website, I’ll use the details you provide to reply and discuss your enquiry. This page explains how information is handled when you visit or get in touch.
What information is collected?
When you use a contact form, you may provide your name, email address, organisation and details of a role, project or story. If you choose to comment on a post or subscribe to updates, those details are collected too.
WordPress.com and Jetpack may collect technical information to operate and measure the site, such as pages visited, referring links, browser and device information, an IP address and cookies.
How is it used?
I use enquiries to respond to you, discuss possible work and keep a record of our correspondence. I use site statistics to understand which pages are useful and improve the website. Comments may be reviewed before they appear publicly.
I will not use the details you submit through an enquiry form for marketing or add them to a CRM. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to updates. If you separately choose to subscribe to the blog, WordPress.com will use the details you provide to deliver those updates.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this website, including which pages they visit and whether they reach an enquiry confirmation page. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure visits. This helps me improve the site and assess whether my advertising brings relevant visitors. I do not use enquiry form details for marketing or add them to a CRM.
Google may process analytics data outside Australia. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services for more detail. Enquiry messages, names and email addresses are not intended to be sent to Google Analytics.
Where is it kept and shared?
Form responses are handled by WordPress.com and Jetpack, and notifications and correspondence are handled through my email provider, Google. These services may process information outside Australia. I do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers where needed to run the site or respond to you, or if required by law.
How long is it kept?
I keep enquiry details for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage any resulting working relationship and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. I delete information I no longer need where I can.
Your choices and questions
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, request a correction or ask me to delete it where possible. You can also raise a concern about how your information has been handled. Please use my contact form, select “Something else” and mention “Privacy” in your message. If you are writing in a personal capacity, enter “Personal” in the required Organisation field. I’ll respond as soon as I reasonably can.
